How to migrate from Stocky, step by step

Phase 1 — Rescue your data from Stocky (do this first)

1. Export your supplier list. Stocky → Suppliers → export CSV. This is the data that's hardest to reconstruct from memory: contact names, order email addresses, lead times, currencies.
2. Export purchase orders. Stocky → Reports → purchase order export. Grab open POs at minimum; grab history too if you use it for tax or reordering reference. After the shutdown there is no export.
3. Note your reorder points for bestsellers. You don't need all of them — your top 20 SKUs cover most of the risk. (Or skip this: a good replacement app will suggest thresholds from your sales velocity.)
4. Close out open deliveries. If a PO is due to arrive before Aug 31, receive it in Stocky as usual. If it lands after, plan to receive it in your new app instead.

Phase 2 — Set up the replacement

The steps below use Supply Radar, but the shape is the same for any replacement. (Comparing options first? See the best Stocky alternatives in 2026.)

1. Install the app. Supply Radar on the Shopify App Store — products, variants, and live inventory sync automatically through Shopify. Nothing to import for stock levels.
2. Re-create your suppliers. From your Phase 1 CSV: name + order email is all that's required to send POs. Add lead times if you want smarter reorder-point suggestions.
3. Set reorder points. Two ways:
   • Set one store-wide default (e.g. 5 units) and override your bestsellers manually, or
   • Accept the suggested thresholds computed from sales velocity × lead time. (How reorder points are calculated.)
4. Choose where alerts go. Email, Slack, or both — plus an optional daily digest of everything below threshold. (More on low-stock alerts.)

Phase 3 — Verify, then uninstall Stocky

1. Test one alert end-to-end. Temporarily drop a test product's stock below its threshold in Shopify admin and confirm the alert arrives where you expect. Put the stock back.
2. Send yourself a test PO. Create a draft purchase order, generate the PDF, and email it to your own address before you ever send one to a real supplier. (How POs work after Stocky.)
3. Re-create any still-open POs from your Phase 1 export so arriving stock can be received into Shopify.
4. Uninstall Stocky — or just let the shutdown take it. Either way, keep the CSVs from Phase 1 somewhere safe.

Common migration questions

Will my inventory counts change? No. Inventory lives in Shopify, not in Stocky or in your new app. Migration only affects suppliers, thresholds, and POs.

Can I run both apps in parallel? Yes, until Aug 31. It's a sensible way to double-check that alerts fire when Stocky's low-stock report agrees.
