Stocky is shutting down on August 31, 2026. Here's exactly what to do.

Updated August 2026

The short version: Shopify is retiring Stocky, its free inventory and purchase-order app, on August 31, 2026. After that date the app stops working and the data inside it — suppliers, purchase orders, reorder settings — is no longer accessible. Your Shopify inventory itself is safe; only Stocky's own data disappears.

The timeline so far

Shopify has been moving some Stocky features (like basic purchase orders) into the Shopify admin itself, but the pieces most merchants relied on — reorder-point alerts, suggested ordering, supplier workflows — are not fully replicated natively. That's why most Stocky users are picking a replacement app.

What you lose vs. what stays

Do these three things before August 31

  1. Export your data from Stocky now. At minimum: your supplier list and any open purchase orders (Stocky → Reports → export CSV). Once the app shuts down there is no export.
  2. Close out open POs. Receive pending deliveries in Stocky while it still works, or note them down so you can re-create them in your replacement app.
  3. Pick and install a replacement. Products and inventory sync automatically through Shopify, so switching is mostly about re-creating suppliers and thresholds — realistically a 10–30 minute job. See our comparison of the main alternatives and the step-by-step migration guide.

How to choose a replacement

Be honest about what you actually used in Stocky. For most single-location stores it comes down to three jobs: know when to reorder, create the purchase order, receive the stock. Many replacement apps are built for multi-channel operations teams, and pricing reflects that — plans starting around $29/mo and up are common. If you need multi-warehouse forecasting, they're worth it. If you don't, you can cover the core workflow for less.

Supply Radar was built specifically for ex-Stocky solo merchants: low-stock alerts, auto-suggested reorder points, and one-click purchase orders at $9–19/mo flat, with a free plan (5 alert rules) and a 14-day trial on paid plans.
